Place arms through the shoulder straps of your brace, in the same way you might put on a jacket or backpack. Take care not to twist your back while doing this. | Ensure the brace is positioned centrally and low on your back. When sitting on firm chair/bed, the brace should sit roughly 5cm above the chair/bed. | Fasten the abdominal belt (large black wings) around your waist. This should sit on the lower part of your belly, and should be fastened firmly but comfortably. | ||
STEP 4 |
STEP 5 |
Pull the tab/string firmly to tighten the brace and attach Velcro tab to the belt. | Tighten shoulder straps to be firm but comfortable. These straps will prevent you from leaning forwards, which is an important movement to prevent with most diagnoses. |
